Employment Partnerships

The Employment Services Program is dedicated to developing strong business partnerships within the community. These partnerships provide the opportunities for individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment.

What can our individuals offer your business?

The individuals in Employment Services have work experience in the following areas:

  • Hospital and Health Care Facilities
  • Child / Day Care Programs
  • Laundry facilities
  • Janitorial
  • Food Industry
  • Assembly-line Production
  • Warehouses and Factories
  • Grocery Stores
  • Retail
  • Office environments/clerical
  • Community Centres
  • Greenhouses
  • Beauty salons
  • Animal Care

How can these qualified individuals become a valued member of your staff?

  • Our Employment Specialists will assist the employer to assess the site and suggest potential job opportunities.
  • Employers can contact an Employment Specialist anytime to see if there are qualified individuals that can fill an existing position.

What supports are available to the Employer?

The Employment Specialist will match the skills and work experience of the individual to meet the job requirements.  A Job Coach can be made available to provide “on the job” training to assist the individual in learning the job duties.  Support to the employer and individual is available whenever required for the duration of the job.

For further information, please contact the Employment Services Department at 467-7140, ext 245.
