Mission Statement

The Robin Hood Association is committed to excellence in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities to live, work and play in their communities.

Guiding Principles

We foster co-operation, collaboration and teamwork in order to:

  • enable individuals to grow and develop through education, training and experience in a caring environment 
  • enable individuals to experience variety and fulfillment by promoting and respecting responsible personal choice
  • enable individuals to be involved in the community to the fullest extent possible
  • protect and respect the rights and dignity of individuals.

Clients have the right to:

  • have access to personal records or files
  • have personal choice respected
  • be assisted in making wishes known through a personal advocate
  • personal safety and protection from harm
  • have a guardian and trustee
  • services in the least restrictive environment
  • freedom from unnecessary use of medication
  • the right to equal protection and due process
  • confidentiality
  • be treated with dignity and respect at all times
  • privacy

Clients and families/guardians have the right to:

  • expect responsibility and accountability from the Robin Hood Association
  • participate in or make decisions about things that matter to them
  • appeal decisions
  • participate in the development of a Personal Service Plan
  • be informed

Families/guardians have the right to:

  • visit the client’s residence or day program sites, respecting individual privacy. Visits to employer sites are not encouraged as these are private businesses.

Staff members and volunteers have the right to:

  • expect responsibility and accountability from the Robin Hood Association
  • be treated with dignity and respect at all times
  • be treated fairly
  • participate in decisions about things that matter to them
  • appeal decisions
  • personal safety and protection from harm
  • fair compensation

Vision Statement

Every individual served by the Robin Hood Association will have the supports and resources needed to enjoy a quality lifestyle that is based on personal choice, dignity and respect.
