FAMILY BEHAVIOUR CONSULTATION PROGRAM

Many families who have children with disabilities often need guidance on how to provide the best support.
Are you struggling with your child’s behaviour at home?
Do you want to understand their actions better?
Are you looking for support and tools to meet your family's needs?
Family Behaviour Consultation (FBC) is a compassionate program designed to help parents understand their child's disability, enhance parenting skills, and promote overall family wellness. Delivered in partnership with Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), FBC offers valuable resources.
What Does a Family Behaviour Consultant Do?
The consultant helps you understand your child's needs, teaches new skills, and provides insights into your child's disability to address challenging behaviours. They introduce positive parenting principles to foster a healthy family environment.
How to Access Services
To be eligible, your child must have an active FSCD agreement. Your FSCD worker can refer you to the program.
Available Supports
FBC offers targeted behavioural and developmental consultation, education, and resources, including the Triple P Parenting Program. Consultants may meet with you individually—in person, virtually, or by phone—and provide flexible scheduling in various settings. They can also lead group sessions and attend case conferences, connecting you to additional community resources.
Service Duration
Services typically last 3-6 months, with possible extensions in consultation with your FSCD worker and FBC Consultant.
