Robin Hood Association (RHA) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives. Founded over 60 years ago by parents in Strathcona County who couldn't find services for their children, RHA has grown to become one of Alberta's largest non-profits.

Robin Hood Association offers its employees:

RHA has four main job categories, each with significant growth potential. Our four key roles are:  

COMMUNITY DISABILITY WORKER (CDW)

The Community Disability Worker (CDW) is a key role where you'll support people with disabilities in achieving their goals and living independently.

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to:

  • Build positive relationships

  • Assist with daily tasks, personal care, and medication

  • Encourage healthy living, recreation, and employment

  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and supervisors
     

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and ability to support individuals with disabilities

  • Grade 12 or equivalent, with experience in the field preferred

  • Driver’s license and vehicle (for some roles)

  • Experience with children’s issues for Children & Youth Services positions

COMMUNITY DISABILITY PRACTITIONER (CDP)

The Community Disability Practitioner (CDP) provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, participates in assessments, and implements person-centered plans. You may also supervise or coordinate other staff.

We seek enthusiastic individuals to:

  • Build positive relationships and model healthy interactions

  • Assist with daily tasks, personal care, and medication

  • Support healthy living, recreation, and employment

  • Mentor staff and communicate with families and teams

 

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and ability to support individuals with disabilities

  • Diploma in Community Disability Services or related field

  • Relevant experience or specialized training

  • Driver’s license and vehicle (for some roles)

TEAM LEADER

The Team Leader supervises front-line staff and oversees service plans for individuals with complex disabilities, coordinating assessments and implementing person-centered plans.
 

We seek experienced professionals to:

  • Lead by example, fostering healthy relationships and positive interactions

  • Motivate staff and support professional growth

  • Oversee daily tasks, promoting independence and positive choices

  • Develop person-centered support plans to help individuals reach their full potential

  • Communicate effectively with families and teams

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and leadership skills

  • Diploma or degree in Community Disability Services

  • Experience with complex disabilities and supervisory roles

  • Driver’s license and vehicle (for some roles)

MANAGER

The Manager provides leadership for a specific set of services, overseeing processes, budgets, community relations, and program coordination.

We seek professionals to:

  • Advocate for individuals with disabilities and build community relationships

  • Mentor staff and foster positive, healthy interactions

  • Align program goals with the needs and expectations of those we serve

  • Evaluate and improve programs

  • Oversee recreational, social, employment, and community programs

  • Communicate effectively with all relevant parties

 

Requirements:

  • Leadership, communication, and team-building skills

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in Community Disability Services

  • Experience in program development and management
