This holiday season, Robin Hood Association invites you to take part in something bright — and brand new.

Light the Way to Empowerment is a community-driven campaign that supports The Empowerment Project, our multi-year initiative to revitalize the spaces and programs that empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live, learn, and belong.

Our goal is to light 2025 candles by December 31, each representing a $25 donation to The Empowerment Project.

These lights will come together in a stunning visual display at our
Light the Way Celebration Night on Thursday, December 11, representing every single gift made.

We’re inviting YOU to become a Light Leader.

Just like joining a walk-a-thon or community fundraiser, we’ll provide you with your own personal fundraising page — all ready to go! Then you can invite friends, family, and colleagues to help you “light candles” and support The Empowerment Project.

On your page, you and your supporters will also be able to see who has donated and track your progress toward your personal fundraising goal — so you can celebrate every light along the way!

How it works:

  1. Create your page: You'll be provided with a personalized link to your own fundraising page through JustGiving. It only takes a few minutes.

  2. Set your goal: Decide how many candles you want to light — maybe 10 candles ($250), 20 candles ($500), or even 100 candles ($2,500).

  3. Share your story: Tell friends, family, and colleagues why you’re lighting the way and invite them to donate through your page. In the Light Leader Toolkit, you'll find ready-to-use text and images to make sharing even easier. Tag @RHAConnects in your posts and use the hashtag #LightTheWayRHA!

  4. See it shine: Join us on December 11 at RHA Broadway to see the impact of your generosity. Every candle you and your supporters light will be part of a stunning display of 2,025 LED tealights at our Light the Way Celebration Night. All Light Leaders and their supporters are welcome to attend and celebrate together!

When everyone participates, we don’t just raise funds — we build something together that everyone can see, feel, and celebrate.
