The Empowerment Gala celebrates the people, partnerships, and possibilities that work together to create empowerment and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
 

On Thursday, April 9, from 5–9 PM, guests will gather at the Strathcona County Community Centre (Agora) for an inspiring night of connection, storytelling, and community in support of individuals with diverse abilities.
 

The evening will feature a keynote address by Medgine Mathurin, Edmonton’s Poet Laureate and acclaimed spoken word artist whose powerful work explores resilience, dignity, and belonging through lived experience. The program will be hosted by Global TV Edmonton's Britt Prendergast, alongside live entertainment from the Keith Rempel Jazz Trio.
 

Guests can expect:

• A welcoming cocktail reception and dinner experience

• Powerful stories of empowerment shared by members of the RHA community

• Live music throughout the evening

• A curated Silent Auction featuring exceptional local experiences and packages

• Opportunities to directly support inclusive programs and spaces
   

Funds raised will support The Empowerment Project, strengthening Robin Hood Association programs and environments that help individuals build independence, develop meaningful relationships, and fully participate in community life — today and for generations to come.
 

More than a fundraiser, the Empowerment Gala is an opportunity to experience firsthand the impact of RHA and celebrate the extraordinary individuals at the heart of this community.
