A Record Year for the Strathcona Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament
We are so grateful to our local heroes at the Strathcona County Fire Department and the newly established Strathcona Firefighters Charitable Society for another amazing Strathcona Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament this August!
Thanks to the hard work of the Golf Tournament Planning Committee, volunteers, sponsors, golfers and donors, this year’s tournament raised an incredible $20,000 for Robin Hood Association’s Children & Youth programs.
And thanks to Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink, eligible donations received an additional $3,158.05 in matching funds, bringing the total raised to $23,158.05!
That’s a new tournament record, surpassing last year’s total of $18,508.84 by more than $4,600.
This year also marked an exciting new chapter for the tournament, which was supported by the newly formed Strathcona Firefighters Charitable Society — a non-profit created to support charitable initiatives right here in our community.
The tournament has become such a meaningful show of community support, and this year was no exception. From the planning that happens long before tournament day to everyone who showed up to golf, volunteer, sponsor, donate and cheer the event on, so many people played a part in making this year such a success.
The funds raised will directly support children and youth who access programs and services through Robin Hood Association’s Children & Youth Community Centre.
To the Strathcona Firefighters Charitable Society, the Golf Tournament Planning Committee, volunteers, sponsors, golfers, donors and everyone who helped make the day happen — thank you so much.
